Geothermal Project in Geureudong will be Cultivated
The Turkish company Hitay Holding U.S. immediately worked on the Geothermal project at Gunong Geureudong in Bener Meriah, Aceh, after obtaining permission from the ESDM Ministry. This was conveyed by Hitay Holding U.S. Turkey's Chairman, Mehmet Emin Hitay, in his meeting with the Governor of Aceh Irwandi Yusuf in the meeting room of the Governor of Aceh on Friday (2/2/2018).
The meeting was a follow-up to the signing of the MoU between the Government of Aceh and Hitay Company in Turkey when the Governor of Aceh made his trip to the country some time ago. "I am very happy to be in Aceh, and God willing, this Geothermal project investment will soon be done this year if we have obtained permission," Emin said in a press release received by Bisnis Friday (2/2/2018).
According to Mehmet Emin, Gunong Geureudong has huge Geothermal potential, reaching 220 megawatts. For the first phase, Hitay's company will expand it by 110 megawatts and the second stage of 110 megawatts. "We sincerely hope that this cooperation will work, let alone Aceh and Turkey have a very close relationship, if this succeeds will certainly help Aceh and more investors will invest in Aceh," he said.
Meanwhile, Aceh Governor Irwandi Yusuf said, immediately met with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan, to discuss the acceleration of the process of licensing Geothermal Gunong Geureudong project. According to the governor, the Geothermal project is cultivated by involving local companies. The success of the project will also open up employment opportunities to the people of Aceh. "We are very optimistic this project will work, therefore we ask for support from all parties so that what we have planned to run smoothly," please the governor.
According to Irwandi, many Turkish companies want to invest in Aceh. In addition to the company, Aksa Enerji Uretim U.S., has also entered into an MoU with the Government of Aceh to work on the project of a gas power plant in Aceh. "If Hitay succeeds in this project, other Turkish companies will invest in Aceh".
